Relocation Update

November 29 2024

Relocation at our new location 34 Kennebec Place (34 is what we have been calling it), is moving along at a fast pace thanks to Izaak Giberson and his crew fitting us into their schedule.

The entire restaurant half of the building has been rebuilt from the inside out. Almost every stud, joist, and rafter has been sistered to or replaced fully. The windows have been replaced with energy efficient windows. The first round of insulation has been installed.

The windows have been fully replaced and the new sheeting has been added to the renovated side of the building. We are still not 100% sure of the opening date, but are hopeful it will be in March/April.

Relocation Update

October 2024

Relocation at our new location 34 Kennebec Place (34 is what we have been calling it), has begun in earnest thanks to Izaak Giberson and his crew fitting us into their schedule.

The entire restaurant half of the building has been stripped down to the studs, rafters, and joists.

Damage, rot, and structural issues have been identified and work has begun on addressing the issues.

Portions of the original 1910 building have rotten so much they are powder.

Condensation on the ceiling has caused surface staining, rot, and mold.

Floor joists needed to be re-leveled before the new subfloor was laid.

The new floor has been installed, fully insulated, with a solid, level subfloor.

New walls have been roughed in.

Exterior walls have been rebuild to square up the building and provide more depth for greater insultaion.

Senator Angus King toured the site of the new Pantry this fall.
